Wellington Or Bloddy windy Welly - 13th-16th July

Wellington, the 2nd city and the Capital of Kiwiland, and its reputation as a windy city is well deserved. However a great city to hang around. A centre with, yes you guessed it, some great coffee shops, and an excellent Thai restaurants. Which is appropriate, as i met up again with Ulli and Jono - from my travels in Thailand & Laos - Jono is from NZ and lives in Welly. It was great catch up.

After Welly, I headed north to Taupo.

I should make the comment that below is the NZ Parliament and its annexe the beehive. The free tour is well worth the time.

The building in the last photo above and the 3 below is the law court and college and is the 2nd largest wooden building in the World.

Love Wellington!! If I wasn't living in Dunedin I'd be in Welly. Most of the friends I made when I was first in New Zealand, living in Dunners, live in Wellington now. I miss them :(
