All Blacks vs Les Bleus
Yes, I went to see a Rugby (Union) match. How could I not. In Kiwiland, this is there n°1,2 & 3 sport. When the Kiwis talk about footie, they don't mean the sport with the round ball which you actually kick most of the game with your foot, they mean Rugby Union, the game they throw a oval bowl around the pitch. I presume they are practiced in throwing sheep to each other - ok, I know a sheep joke & a cheap joke, sorry Léna, but it will be the only one - so Rugby is the perfect game. And of course its the All Blacks and its the French who were in (Dunedin) town, I thought I may as well go and support les bleus. Not a classic game. The All Black looked indifferent and les Bleus - in difference to their name were in white - seemed supprised that they were in front all through the match. Les bleus finally won 27-22.

I'm so glad you went... the ultimate kiwi experience. Did they throw Speights cans around? Did you get in any fights?
Thanks for your text message - was really happy to know you were at Carisbrook living the dream.
Hi Dan - I'm hoping at Carisbrook you stood on the terrace. This was once my territory, a space of very fond memories for me. Once took Lena and her cousin there - not at all successful. Hope when you return you will convince Lena of the joys of Rugby. Anaig and I saw the game from the Biarritz, a rugby cafe, at the bottom of our apartment.
Hopefully Carisbrook will stay and the new stadium will not be built but don't think that will happen now. Been lots of protests over it. I'm not a supporter of the new stadium as are many Dunedin residents. They are preparing the new site at the moment and we have to pass it on our way to and from city to Port. The new site is opposite the university oval. I'm not a rugby fan but did go to the brook for Springboks v All Blacks a few years ago.
DAaaaannn!!!! DAAAAAANNNN!!!
we miss you! where are you?
When are you going to update this Dan? I know where you are but don't forgot your blog fans!!
