Hong Kong I believe is truly a world city. Where east, west, north & south meets. Yes, I liked the place. It was hard to leave.
I meant to have met John. unfortunately he could not make it in time - as I type this he is in Honk Kong. We missed each other by 2 weeks. However I did meet some people in HK. First Aurelie, from my dorm, a French student - I seem to be a magnet for French speakers - spending a long weekend in HK. We spent a afternoon visiting the largest outdoor sitting Budha in Asia - that was is claimed.
Then I met the 3 Argentinians. Pat from my dorm and earlier that day I bumped into Gabriel and Fabiene who I met on the Halong Bay trip. - see the Halong Bay post - A pleasure to see them again. They are the 3 As. It starts to feel like a sequel to the 3 Swiss??!!
What did I do then in Hong Kong? Well, I ate a lot chocolate. I mean a lot. I should say I gorged. Bought myself at last a new lens for my camera - if you see any close up shot in the photos below, they may not be of interest but look at the details!!!! Well the smog anyway - thank you Qualibris. Reinstalled XP on my lap top - this took me a few days. Now my lap top is virus free, trekked across Lamma Island, the Budha on Lantau Island, shops and markets..
Unfortunately, HK was not a great place to take photos. Not when I was there anyway. There seem to be a permanent smog over the city. Very bad light. My next destination is Seoul, South Korea.

great to see you again on here again and an update on your time in Hong Kong. Shame you didn't catch up with my friend whilst you were there.
The smog is there most days of the year, comes from the factories in China. So you don't really get to see the sky much.
I have had good times in Hong Kong, an interesting city to visit.
Ahhhh... Cadbury's chocolate... when you go to Dunedin you need to visit the Cadbury factory (they give you lots of free samples, well they did in my day anyway).
Really like the sculptures of the film maker and the martial artist.
All your photos are really interesting - well done!
BLOODY HELL DAN... I'm very concerned... just noticed that you're currently reading TWILIGHT... we need to talk!
I've never been to cadbury's Lena. I'm a bit of a chocolate snob and don't believe cadbury's is real chocolate. I prefer the belgium, fairtrade stuff myself, more cocoa, the more cocoa the better I say.
And there is so much more to do in Dunedin than cadbury's...but I'm sure Dan would love it so I won't put him off...
and yes Lena they do give away free samples still i hear...
Message for Claire : I know you're right about belgian chocs being much better but Cadbury's products remind me of my misspent youth!
